Winter is here, and if you live in a place similar to Canada you should know it better than anyone that this season is no joke. Gone are days of Fall where you could go out wearing your favorite light coats and jackets. You can't really wear those Fall pieces by themselves anymore, they can only be layered under a heavy winter coat. So, time for ugly puffers and over-coats? Well, it doesn't have to be. Below I am listing everything that comes to mind, From must have items, how to style them and some mistakes to avoid, so you can look your best this winter.
First let's start with the outermost layer, The winter coat. Consider 3 factors when you're looking for a new coat,
1.Looks: If you're out in the rainy streets, running errands then you can't wear something that isn't waterproof. you'll have to dress practically and opt for a waterproof heavy parka. But also if you're going to a holiday party or other indoor activities then you don't need to wear that same heavy parka, you're free to dress up in your fancier over-coats.
2.Warmth: Look for your new jacket keeping in mind the weather around you. If you don't love in a place where there is heavy snow and extreme low temperatures. you might even be able to get around layering up your fall wardrobe.
3.Cost: This is a big factor for a lot of people because most parka and other heavy over-coats can cost anywhere from 100-150 bucks to thousands of dollars.
Below are some of my recommendations for winter coats but don't focus much on the brands but more on the pieces because there are tons of options on the market.
Down Jacket: This is the jacket for some of the coldest days of the entire season. It may seem bulky but it sure is durable and it's down feather filling will help keep your body warm in low temperatures. North Face, Tommy Hilfiger etc are great brands to look into for down and heavy puffer jackets.

Peacoat: This might just look like a shorter version of the trench coat but there's something about it that just makes way more stylish than your average overcoats. This layered over any shirt paired with jeans and boots, and you my friend have yourselves a dope outfit.
